  • Blarney Castle & Cobh

You’ll depart Cork city this morning to embark on an unforgettable journey through the Cork region. Our first stop is the charming town of Blarney where you can get a taste of rural Irish life. Don’t forget to kiss the Blarney Stone while you’re here! Located out on the battlements of the ancient castle – the stone promises the ‘Gift of the gab’ (Irish humor, song and storytelling) to those that kiss it. While here the options are endless- visit the ‘witches caves’ of the castle, stroll through the lush gardens and enjoy a comprehensive visit to the castle itself – you’ll feel like you have entered an Irish fairytale as you explore this ancient site. You might also choose to let loose in the tax-free shopping paradise that is the Blarney Woolen Mills – a famous outlet specializing in hand-knitted Irish clothing and gifts.

  • Cobh

The small town of Cobh, situated on Ireland’s southernmost coast, plays a huge part in the history of Irish emigration. Between the years of 1840 and 1950, millions of our Irish ancestors left these shores for all four corners of the globe in search of a better future – and Cobh was their final departure point. The town was also the final stop of the ill-fated RMS Titanic, which sank in the North Atlantic in April 1912. There is a somewhat sad history attached to this village – but a fascinating one nonetheless. The village was renamed as Queenstown, following a visit from British monarch Queen Victoria in 1912. While here, you may decide to visit St. Colman’s Cathedral – the final place of worship for many emigrants – or visit the Titanic monument, which was erected in the village center in memory of the catastrophic ship. Many of our guests visit here to re-trace the steps of their own family members who passed through the village – beginning an epic journey to a new life overseas. Cobh is certainly not to be missed while visiting the Cork region!
