  • Depart Dublin (07.00 - 07:30 start is recommended)

Your driver will collect you this morning from the entrance of your accommodation. We recommend getting on the road early so as to maximise your private tour experience in Northern Ireland.

Departing at 07:00, 07:15 or 07:30 will allow your driver to keep you one step ahead of the coach groups at the major stops and get onto the M1 Dublin to Belfast motorway ahead of the heavy goods traffic coming into Dublin Port from the UK and EU.

  • UNESCO Giant’s Causeway

The best way to approach this itinerary is to head straight for Giant’s Causeway. Naturally, there will be time for a short refreshment stop at a service station en- route before arriving on the north Antrim coast around 3.5 - 4 hours after departure.

Enjoy approximately 1.5 - 2 hours at this morning’s highlight, a UNESCO World Heritage site formed of 40,000+ columns of hexagonal basalt in spectacular formations. You’ll learn about the science behind this volcanic phenomenon and also the ancient Celtic legend which says that mythological giants built this path or “causeway” to allow them to cross the ocean to Scotland just across the bay.

    Notes:

Our Concierge staff will take care of your entrances, parking and during high- peak times arrange for expedited access - essential on days where some of the world's largest cruise ships are docked at the deep water ports of Belfast and Dublin.

    Lunch:

Depending on the season / group interests on the day / start time of the tour, lunch (approx 60 minutes) will either be enjoyed at Giant’s Causeway or somewhere not too far away. The drivers are well placed to recommend good local pubs etc for a delicious quick lunch, away from the crowds wherever possible!

  • Giant’s Causeway to Belfast

The onward journey will take approximately 90 minutes depending on weather conditions, traffic and vehicle size (vehicles 7 seats and larger are subject to 120km speed limit). Sit back and enjoy the northern Irish scenery.

  • Belfast

Due to limitations of what is possible in one day from Dublin you’ll have approximately 90 minutes in Belfast.

    Choose between one of the following options;

    1. Titanic Belfast - Northern Ireland’s premier visitor attraction, this state of the art visitor center is located on the very dockside where Titanic was built and launched in 1912. Virtual reality and museum artifacts take you through the building, sailing and sinking of this infamous ship.
    2. Black Taxi Tour - a fascinating glimpse into Belfast’s troubled modern history. A local taxi driver will take you through central / suburban Belfast and explain what life was like during the 70s, 80s and 90s, when a war of attrition was fought in broad daylight on the city’s streets between the British security forces, British loyalist paramilitaries and the Provisional IRA.

    Notes:

There will only be time for one of the above experiences and we will need to have your preference at time of booking - advance arrangements are required and cannot be left until you are on tour. Please see the “entrance fees” and “guest advice” section for important related information.

  • Return to Dublin

Your driver will collect you after your experience and together you’ll head straight back to Dublin. Arrive in downtown Dublin approximately 12 hours after departure.

All timings are approximate and cannot be guaranteed due to weather, traffic and occasionally security diversions in Northern Ireland.

Private Tours typically range from EUR 695.00 – EUR 1,895.00+ per vehicle per day including a driver- guide (& his overnight expenses), fuel, road tolls and associated taxes. Guest accommodation & entrance fees are not included in the above guideline to facilitate guest flexibility.

Tours are priced individually according to the route, group size, distances & hours required, date(s) in question, start & end locations, overnight locations (where applicable) and remaining supply at time of booking.
Update: 14th March 2024

Ireland is currently at full employment. Many drivers exited the hospitality industry during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (as hospitality was shut for two years) and there is currently a relative shortage of the very best talent.

Black Taxi Tour
The Black Taxi tour of Belfast (60 minutes approx) is priced from GBP 16.00 (EUR 20.00) per person (depending on group size). The rate for 1- 2 passengers is approximately GBP 50.00 - 60.00 / 60 minutes depending on the season, day and supply etc. We would need to make arrangements on your behalf at time of booking and you pay the driver directly in GBP cash on the day. 4 out of 5 guests will typically opt for Option A. Option A is considered the "classic" Giant's Causeway route which has proven most popular over the last decade. Option B is still an excellent tour but just gives a taste of Belfast to those who particularly wish to see it or say they've been there. Unfortunately, it is not possible to spend more time in Belfast when paired with Giants Causeway.

This route is at the maximum of what is legally possible in a day. There is no wiggle room for customisation of this route.

This route is priced slightly higher than Option A. If you book Option A and wish to subsequently change to Option B any supplement will need to be settled by secure payment link before departure (within normal hours of business). During busy periods, changes to day tour routes may not be possible where requested less than 48 hours before departure.
