DAY 1 | DUBLIN After we welcome you to Dublin, you will be taken to a Dublin hotel to relax or explore the city on your own. DUBLIN
DAY 2 | DUBLIN CITY, SOUTH COAST & MOUNTAINS Your private guide will share Dublin’s Victorian architecture with you, as well as share the history of our Viking origins. As the once second city of the British Empire, our beautiful city offers much to see, including the Book of Kells. A whiskey tasting and a visit with traditional cheesemongers can be enjoyed before you spend the afternoon and evening at leisure. DUBLIN
DAY 3 | ROCK of CASHEL & CAHIR CASTLE We will journey through County Kildare, the racehorse breeding capital of Europe. Visit the Irish National Stud, home to some of Ireland’s finest thoroughbreds. Afterwards continue to county Tipperary to the breathtaking Rock of Cashel, which served as the Kings of Munster traditional seats and is one of the most breathtaking showings of medieval architecture in Europe. The 12th century home of the Norman Butler family in Cahir is our next destination and was listed in Frommer’s in 2011 as a “must see.” We will venture into the second largest city in Ireland, Cork City, which is over 800 years old. The city lies on the River Lee and it has its own culture that is just ready to be explored. CORK
DAY 4 | WATERFORD & WHISKEY Cross the River Suir to the Waterford Crystal Factory and see how exquisite crystal is hand crafted. Enjoy time to browse the showrooms and perhaps invest in some beautiful cut glass! We’ll return to Cork via the charming seaside town of Youghal and Mideleton’s Jameson Whiskey Distillery where connoisseurs can pick up a bottle of the 24 year old- mighty stuff! CORK
DAY 5 | BLARNEY, KINSALE & COBH For as long as can be remembered, people of note have ventured up the Blarney Castle battlements to give the mystical stone a kiss to acquire “The Gift of Gab.” This morning you will be able to do the same! Afterwards tour to the exclusive harbour town of Kinsale where you can enjoy gourmet lunch washed down with a pint of Cork’s favourite stout, Murphy’s. Visit the star-shaped Charles Fort and enjoy time to explore the marina full of yachts before continuing to the Cobh, which is the departure point for over 2.5 million of the 600 million famished emigrants who left Ireland during the Great Famine. DAY 6 | BANTRY, KENMARE & KILLARNEY Today we venture into the wilds of West Cork. At Glengarriff we’ll cruise by boat across Bantry Bay to Garinish Island, a favourite holiday spot of George Bernard Shaw and Agatha Christie. Discover the Martello Tower and explore the gorgeous Italianate Gardens. Later we’ll traverse the spectacular Caha Pass into Kenmare, a seaside town with elegant streets and beguiling restaurants and shops. Continue through Moll’s Gap, pausing at Ladies View for panoramic views over the Lakes of Killarney. Arrive this afternoon in Killarney where you might enjoy a horse drawn jaunting cart ride through National Park. KILLARNEY
DAY 7 | DINGLE PENINSULA Today we’ll take the short drive to Dingle (An Daingean), a charming “Gaeltacht” (Gaelic speaking) fishing town. We’ll experience some of Europe’s wildest natural beauty and most ancient Christian sights. Enjoy free time in Dingle for shopping and lunch before a pleasant tour around Slea Head with its sheep filled fields and traditional stone walls. We’ll take in great views of Sleeping Giant Island where part of the Spanish Armada was wrecked following battle with the English Imperial Navy in 1588.KILLARNEY
DAY 8 | SLÁN ABHAILE! Transfer to Shannon Airport, travelling through the village of Adare with its traditional thatched cottage and the city of Limerick, Ireland’s third largest city. Allow at least three hours for checkin when you reach the airport.
