Stroll through St. Stephen’s Green, Merrion Square or The Phoenix Park. Explore the city’s narrow streets or relax with a proper pint at The Brazen Head pub, serving the city’s drinkers since 1198! DAY 1 | DUBLIN
Arrive at Dublin Airport and transfer independently to your Dublin hotel / accommodation. The arrivals terminals are well served by a large taxi rank (EUR 40.00 – EUR 60.00 on average) and private car service (EUR 130.00 on average) is best arranged by your hotel concierge if staying 4* or 5*. NB: As a private tour firm we hire by the full day only. You have the rest of the day to yourself to enjoy the local shops, bars, or afternoon tea with the locals. (DUBLIN)
DAY 2 | DUBLIN CITY AT LEISURE
Refreshed after a good night’s sleep why not take today to orient yourself with the Viking history of Dublin and see some of the finest Victorian architecture in what was once the second city of the British Empire. Perhaps visit the Book of Kells before heading over to the nearby Dawson Street area to shop for excellent whisky and cheese at Celtic Whiskey Shop and Sheridan’s Cheesemonger. You have the afternoon at leisure for a rest in your hotel or for shopping with the family. This evening you are spoilt for choice with a plethora of traditional pubs, atmospheric restaurants and live music venues. (DUBLIN)
DAY 3 | WICKLOW MOUNTAINS & MEDIEVAL KILKENNY
After breakfast this morning your private driver- guide will collect you from the door / lobby of your accommodations. Together you’ll head south into the Irish countryside. High in the Wicklow Mountains you can choose between splendid gardens at Powerscourt Estate or discover the 7th century monastery founded by St. Kevin in the beautiful “Valley of Two Lakes” at Glendalough. This afternoon look forward to exploring the ancient Norman city of Kilkenny with its excellent castle stronghold, St. Canice’s Cathedral, Black Abbey, Rothe House, Smithwick’s Factory and famous “red ale” beer! Thirsty travellers might wish to stop for a pint at Kyteler’s Inn, an atmospheric hostelry established in 1324 by convicted witch Dame Alice Le Kyteler. (DUBLIN)
DAY 4 | BELFAST
Seeing as you’re only 2 hours from Belfast, why not pop in and see why Lonely Planet has listed Belfast as a top 10 “Must See” destination. The trip will be easy and comfortable with your private tour vehicle & driver- guide. Optional highlights include a Black Taxi Tour (advance booking essential) to see the infamous political murals and security fence and / or a visit to the interactive Titanic Belfast museum in the once mighty docklands. Great shopping awaits on Royal Avenue and fans of pub culture simply must visit the “Crown Liquor Saloon” for a pint of Harp lager or measure of Bushmills Black Label Whiskey in superbly traditional surroundings – one of the great pubs of the world. DAY 5 | WATERFORD CRYSTAL & ROCK OF CASHEL
Today your private driver will show you some of the highlights of the south east. Aficionados of cut glass can look forward to the shopping outlet and an optional guided tour at The House of Waterford Crystal – arguably the world’s most famous crystal factory. Other highlights today include the Rock of Cashel – a spectacular medieval ruins set upon a rocky outcrop over the plains of Co.
