Day 1: Belfast City

Your tour begins at the Dublin location that is most convenient for you. Your private late – model touring vehicle and driver – guide will meet you ahead of your enjoyable morning drive north from Dublin to Belfast. Along the way, you’ll have time to take in the ancient Christian settlement of Monasterboice, Co. Louth – set amidst the most peaceful and scenic countryside. The journey continues as far as the outskirts of Belfast city – where those with an interest in “Titanic” history can pass through the Docklands district – steeped in history and birthplace of the tragic ‘RMS Titanic’. “Samson and Goliath”, the iconic yellow cranes of the shipyard “Harland & Wolff” tower over the skyline close to ‘Titanic Belfast’ an interactive experience that allows you to explore the history of this legendary ship from a first person perspective.

Afterwards, make the short journey into the city center of Belfast to enjoy time at leisure exploring this unique metropolis. Belfast has been experiencing an exciting rebirth since the Good Friday Power Sharing & Peace Agreement of 1998 – bidding farewell to a violent history and becoming a center of arts, culture, fine dining and entertainment.

Highly recommended to you during your time in Belfast is a ‘Black Taxi Tour’ – a journey through the city’s infamous political history, led by local guides who lived during Belfast’s most troubled times (prior appointment necessary). More sights for you to discover include Belfast’s Albert Clock and the City Hall. Your overnight stay will be here in Belfast – where you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the fantastic nightlife – why not begin your evening with a pint of local favourite “Harp Lager” or a “wee dram” of Black label Bushmills Whiskey fondly referred to as “Black Bush” at the historic “Crown Liquor Saloon”? – a charming and traditional pub in the heart of the city.

Day 2: Giant’s Causeway & Antrim Coast

Begin your second day of touring with time for a leisurely breakfast here in Belfast. Your private driver will collect you at your accommodation for a scenic drive, en route to one of Ireland’s northernmost points. Driving along the Glens of Antrim – you’ll be in for a treat as you gaze out at the spectacular coastal vistas. Many guests will break the journey with a stop at the charming, rural village of Ballintoy – which you might recognize as the set of ‘Game of Thrones’. Test your bravery with a walk across the ‘Carrick-A-Rede’ rope bridge, or simply decide to hang back and take in the incredible views.

We’ll then continue along the coast – ultimately reaching the ‘Giant’s Causeway’ – without a doubt one of the most incredible natural wonders anywhere on earth. Essentially, the Causeway is made up of thousands of hexagonal-shaped columns of basalt rock, which resulted following volcanic activity many millions of years ago. As with many historic Irish sites however – there’s a little more than just science to the story! Legend has it that the Causeway was actually built by the bare hands of Irish hero Finn McCool – as a place of battle to take on a giant ‘Bennandonner’, from across the water in Scotland. Peruse this magical site at your leisure –making sure to leave time to visit the state-of-the-art and newly-opened visitor experience and on-site gift shop.

We say a fond farewell to the Giant’s Causeway – making our way towards one final highlight before we conclude the tour. The remains of Dunluce Castle sits literally on a cliff edge of Ireland’s Northern Coast – this is always a popular stop with our guests. Enjoy learning about the castle’s creepy haunted history (so creepy indeed that a decayed part of the castle crumbled over the cliffs a couple of hundred years ago, leaving the castle in ruin). We make time for some photos here, before concluding this highly enjoyable, two-day northern adventure.

Relax back in your private car, as your touring party begins the drive back to Dublin city. You’ll be dropped off at your desired location in Dublin – free to spend the evening as you choose! Your guide will be more than happy to leave you with a few recommendations for the best of things do and see in the capital!
